Irene M Beeson was born on March 12, 1921, in Ford County, Kansas, the child of Merritt L and Elizabeth Irene Schaetzel Beeson. She had two sons, Mark and Wade and one daughter, Jan with Elden Ray Cross between 1953 and 1957. She died on April 17, 2016, in Concordia, Kansas, at the age of 95.

Irene passed over while a resident of Mount Joseph Senior Village in Concordia, Kansas. On June 19, 2016, her ashes were scattered west of Dodge City at the Sante Fe Trail Tracks, per her final requests. Her children, Mark, Wade and Jan, along with grandchildren, Jesse (Jan's daughter) and Joel (Mark's son) performed the honor. Irene's son, Wade Cross, passed over after wrecking his motorcycle on his way home from the Ash Scattering.
