Katrine Kirkegard Faunce, 69, of Raynham, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Morton Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. She was the wife of the late Alvin Frank Faunce. Katrine was born in Boston and was the daughter of the late Neil and Charlotte (Litchfield) Kirkegard. She grew up in Randolph and graduated from Randolph High School in 1965. She lived in Raynham for past 45 years.
Katrine earned an associate’s degree at Mass Bay Community College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
Katrine retired from the Bridgewater-Raynham School District, after 28 years of service as the Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools, where she was a beloved co-worker and friend to many. She was devoted to her church, the First Congregational Church of Raynham, where she loved to spend her time volunteering on the Missions Committee, various charities and events, especially the Raynham Santa. Katrine is well known, and a beloved member of the Community.
Survivors include a son, Jesse Alvin Faunce and his wife Victoria M. Faunce, of Raynham, a sister Joan K. Bailey of South Windsor, CT, a brother Neil Kirkegard Jr. and his wife Marlene of Raynham, her sister-in-law Katherine E. Komich, of Harrison ME, two grandchildren, Cole Benjamin Faunce and Bradley Thomas Faunce, both of Raynham, and nieces Debbie, Denise, Elissa, and Myrna, nephews Erwin, Greg and Kris, grand-nieces Katie, Chelsey, Brittany, Madison and Emma, grand-nephews Kevin, Matthew, Michael and Tim Alex, cousins and many dear friends.
Katrine loved spending time with her family, friends and the Church. Katrine enjoyed vacationing on Cape Cod beaches. To celebrate her retirement, Katrine and her sister cruised to Bermuda. Katrine was an active member of the Randolph Class of 1965 Yearbook committee and helped to organize many class Reunions.
Calling hours will be held in the Crapo Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. Taunton, MA .
Funeral service will be at the First Congregational Church of Raynham, 785 South Main St., followed by burial at Pleasant St Cemetery
