George was born May 1, 1948, in Hampton County, SC, a son of the late George G. Mixon, Sr. and Helen Olivia Morris Mixon. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and was an auto mechanic before retiring.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a son, George G. Mixon, III.
