Mr. David Ray Hagler, 74, died Monday, December 5, 2016 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. The funeral service will be 4:00 PM Saturday, December 10, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Chester, SC with Rev. Clay Waldrip, Rev. Cliff Dye and Major General Gary McCoy, US Air Force Retired officiating. The interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 4:00 PM Saturday, December 10, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Chester.
Born August 18, 1942 in Charlotte, NC, Mr. Hagler was a son of the late James Andrew Hagler and Caddie Starnes Hagler. He was a graduate of Garringer High School in Charlotte, NC and Clemson University. He was a retired Graphic Arts and Photography teacher having taught at Chester County Career Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Chester, SC. David loved nature. He was a beloved husband and a wonderful father and grandfather and a dedicated friend.
He is survived by his wife of over nineteen years Dianne Boutwell Hagler; two daughters, Shelley Shugart of Chester, SC and Allison Minton and her husband Michael of Aiken, SC; two step-daughters, Crystal Kaiserling and her husband Juergen of Rock Hill, SC and Hannah Rowland and her husband Greg of Mt. Pleasant, NC; one step-son, Alan Moore of Kannapolis, NC; son-in-law, Todd Shugart of Carlisle, SC; eight grandchildren, Meagan Kinard and her husband Wesley of Aiken, SC, Nikki Griswald of Everett, WA, William Rowland of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Will Shugart and Melissa Shugart both of Carlisle, SC , Alyssa Brown of Aiken, SC, Betti Moore and James Moore both of Rock Hill, SC; one great grandson, Asher David Kinard of Aiken, SC; two brothers, Bobbie Hagler and his wife Ruby of Charlotte, NC and Tommy Hagler and his wife Joyce of Matthews, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
