Birdie D. Dorr, 87, of Edwardsville, died at 11:11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 1985, in Oliver C. Anderson Hospital, Maryville.
she was born Feb. 6, 1898, in Lafayette, Colo., a daughter of the late John and Bertha Gantner Considine.
she married Walter L. Dorr in St. Louis in 1919. He preceded her in death July 20, 1962.
She is survived by a son, D. James (Joan Carol) Dorr of Ballwin, Mo.; a daughter Jean Dorr Wells of Edwardsville; a sister, Mrs. Darrell (Caroline "Cal") Blodgett of Wheaton, Ill; four grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A brother and two sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Dorr was leader of one of Edwardsville's two existing Girl Scout troops during the 1930s.
There will be no visitation. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. today in Valley View Cemetery, Edwardsville, with the Rev. Roger Zollars of First Christian Church officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Edwardsville Public Library, Friends of Lovejoy Library or Children's Home and Aid Society of Illinois.
