Alexander Stewart was a son of Alexander Stewart, and Margaret Dixon. He was born in Ballymena, Antrim, Ireland.

Alexander married Margaret Robinson, daughter of James and Jane Robinson.

He was admitted March 7, 1730-31, to the church of East Haddam, where his two children were baptized May 9, 1731. He died early in 1732, the inventory of his estate, ?150, being taken February 28, 1732, by Isaac Spencer, John Church, Thomas Millard, and on August 1, 1732, administration was granted to the widow Margaret. He is not referred to in a settlement of his father's estate made in 1742, but his brothers probably looked after his children's interest, as William was appointed November 4, 1745, guardian of Daniel, aged about 16, a minor son of Alexander Stewart.

Alexander, was my husband Michael's, 6th great-grandfather.
