Janie Bell Patterson,75, of Clay, entered into rest Wednesday, June 3, 2009.

Born March 25, 1934 in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Okey Carl and Ora Pearl (Comer) Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Patterson, daughter Joan, brothers Keith, Jack, and Cliff Smith.

She was homemaker and attended Peoples Community Church at Groves Creek.

She is survived by her brothers James Smith of Big Otter, Wallace Smith of Gassaway, Jerry W. Smith of Columbus, OH, Okey Carl Smith Jr. Ripley, Gary Smith of Summersville, sisters Ariel Young of Huntington, Janet Wolf of Dunbar and Mary Jane Burns of Newport News, VA.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay with Minister Dewey Tanner officiating. Burial will be in Chapman Cemetery, Harrison.
