CATHERINE ROSE ADAMS

Catherine Adams, 78, died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 1995 at VIP Manor in Wood River.

Born Nov. 12, 1916, in Trenton, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Atoka (Lee) Harshaw.

She was a clerk at J.C. Penney Co. in East Alton for five years and a member of the Women of the Moose at Wood River Moose Lodge.

She married William N. Adams Nov. 5, 1938, in St. Louis. He survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Allen Adams of Fosterburg, Robert Adams of Holiday Shores and William Claude Adams of Alton; a daughter Charlotte Hoormann of Rosewood Heights; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, with a prayer service at 4 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Kevin's Catholic Church in Rosewood Heights, with the Rev. Tom Liebler as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey.

Memorials may be made to the church, where she was a member.
