MRS REBECCA RACKETT
Mrs Rebecca J Rackett, widow of Clinton Rackett, one of East Marion's oldest and best known residents, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Emily J Hommel on Monday, August 10th. Mrs Rackett who was 83 years of age was born in Nantucket RI. She had been a resident of the village of East Marion for 62 years. Funeral services were held at her late home on Wednesday August 12th. Rev Alexander H Shaw, pastor of the East Marion Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the East Marion Cemetery.
Surviving Mrs Rackett are three daughters, Mrs Emily J Hommel of East Marion, Mrs Helen Miller of Montauk, and Mrs Walter Loper of Amagansett; and one son Henry Rackett of East Marion; sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
