Stella Louise Townsend, 76, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away during the early morning hours of Monday (October 31, 2016).
Stella was born on June 19, 1940 to the late Jack & Mary Jane (Grizzle) Kiser in Russell County, VA.
Stella was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church. She enjoyed housework and spending time with her family and friends. Stella was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend; she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents Stella was preceded in death by her daughter, Kellie Townsend; four brothers, Roy, Alvin, Joe, and Cecil Kiser; three sisters, Ethel Skeens, Gladys Taylor, and Ebbie Taylor.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 43 years, James Townsend; brother, Howard Kiser; sister, Mary Lou Pope; brother-in-law, John Bruce Townsend; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Funeral Services will be held Friday (November 4, 2016) at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Wright and Rev. Ray Amos, Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Devotion at East Lawn Memorial Park in Kingsport.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
