Christine Marie Gautier
July 25, 1953 - January 1, 2007


Christine "Chrisâ" Marie Gautier, 53, of Austin passed away peacefully, after a 14 month battle with brain cancer, at Christopher House, Hospice Austin on Monday, January 1, 2007. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on July 25, 1953 to Charles and Ida Mae Carpenter.

She devoted her adult life to raising her four sons and loving her grandchildren. Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend shared a strong belief in our Heavenly Father. She enjoyed watching detective shows Charlie Chan a favorite, cheering on both the UT Longhorn and Dallas Cowboy football teams, listening to George Strait, and, her all time favorite, watching Scooby Doo and Disney Channel programs with her granddaughters.

There are many things we can say about our Mom, but the greatest is that we know she loved us with all her heart.

Her father, Charles Allen Carpenter and her grandson Erich Campbell Gautier preceded her in death.

Chris is survived by her mother, Ida Mae Carpenter, of Manchaca, Texas, four brothers, Pat Carpenter and wife Paula, of Anchorage, Alaska, Mike Carpenter and wife Sherida of Katy, Texas, Dennis Carpenter and wife Terry of Dallas, Texas, Kevin Carpenter and wife Bonnie of Austin, Texas and her sister, constant supporter and best friend, Cathy Luhrman and husband Jimmy of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her former husband, Jerry Gautier and their four sons, Richie Gautier and wife Melaina, Charlie Gautier and wife Jody, Steve Gautier and wife Rebecca, Robbie Gautier and wife Cristal, as well as seven grandchildren, Sylvia, Stephanie, Christine, Ava, Jaxon, Garrett and Ian Gautier, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 5, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 pm with the Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 7:30 pm at Harrell Funeral Home at Austin. Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 10:30 am at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, 1100 Main Street, Buda, Texas 78610. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
