Marine Pvt. Laurence W. Famularo, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Famularo, 167 W. Seneca st., who was officially announced dead on February 8 by the Navy department, has been awarded posthumously the order of the Purple Heart and the medal has been received by his parents.
The youngest of five children, Pvt. Famularo enlisted in the Marines on November 15, 1942 and 14 weeks later was reported missing in action while enroute overseas.
