Darrell Ross Adams

Darrell Ross Adams, the son of Ross and Beatrice (Hine) Adams, was born in Montgomery County, near Elliott, IA, on February 22, 1938. He died December 4, 2016 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, IA at the age of 78 years, 9 months, and 10 days.
Darrell attended country school until the eighth grade. He attended Griswold High School, graduating with the class of 1956. After graduating, Darrell began farming. On January 31, 1986, he was united in marriage to Deloris Peterson in Las Vegas, NV. In the early 1990’s, Darrell retired from farming and began driving a bulldozer for Hoye Incorporated. He and Deloris moved from the farm, into Griswold in 2000. Darrell retired from Hoye’s in 2009. He continued to live in Griswold until the time of his death.
Darrell loved woodworking. He especially enjoyed making different items for his family. Darrell liked to travel, collect toy tractors, and watch westerns on T.V.
Darrell is preceded in death by his sons: Glen, Mark, and Matt; his parents; and his brothers Dwight and David.
He is survived by his wife Deloris of Griswold; his children: Denise Crabtree of Phoenix, AZ, Nikki Carlson of Red Oak, IA, and Deb Foote and husband Doug of Red Oak, IA; his grandchildren: Hayden, Jared, Cade, Tyan, Nathan, Jodie, Macy, Colton, Brent, Scott, and Ross; his great grandchildren: Korbin, Jaxton, Trinity, Chris, and Layla; and his sisters, Patricia Thorton and husband Alan of Avoca, IA, and Janet Nelson and husband Doug of Griswold, IA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
