Port Jervis, NY

Randy C. "Goob" Kizer of Port Jervis, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at Bon Secours Community Hospital, after a senseless and tragic shooting. He was 21.

He was born January 7, 1990 in Port Jervis, the son of Ron Kizer Sr. and Melissa Conklin Kizer.

Randy worked for Royal Furniture in Port Jervis as a delivery and inventory stocker.

A family statement reads: My brother Randy he is one of a kind. He was just so loving and unafraid to show you or anyone else his true feelings. He did not hold anything back as we all know. He was a very outspoken, lovable guy. If you knew Randy you loved him and he made sure of that with his never-ending smile. He would give you the shirt off his back if he thought it might help just for a second. Anyone who knew him would say the same. He may have traveled paths for reasons unknown to others, but he was destined to find his way through this crazy place. He was on his way, he had found his path. Though his life may have been cut short, the legacy of Randy and his everlasting grin will live on in all of us who loved him. We will never forget Randy for the rest of our days, until we meet with him once again and walk beside him as he welcomes us into his place, a place of peace. Randy, you will be in my heart, my thoughts and prayers forever. You will always be part of me and what made me who I am today. You truly are a special soul. I love you and miss you. Love, your brother, Ron Kizer Jr.

Kizer Sr. and his fiance, Trina West of Port Jervis; paternal grandmother, Lois Kizer and her companion, Red Bird of Port Jervis; maternal grandparents, Gordon and Jackie Conklin of Newburgh; sisters and brothers: Ashley Kizer, Ron Kizer Jr. and his fiance, Natasha Roberts, Amber Jaycox and her husband, Danny of Port Jervis, Dylan Kizer, Reagan Kizer, all of Port Jervis; stepbrother and stepsister, William West and Ashley Dietz, both of Port Jervis; uncles and aunts: Richard Batzel and his wife, Dee, Keith Kizer and his wife, Maureen, Mark Kizer and his wife, Kimberly, all of Sparrow Bush; cousin and best friend, Brian Kizer of Port Jervis, and also many other aunts, uncles, cousins and two nephews; his girlfriend, Leanna Courtney of Port Jervis, and Randy's faithful companion, his dog, Ruger.
