Mrs. Augusta Christina Franson died Friday of last week at Hillcrest manor. She was 85.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Danekas chapel here. Interment was in Riverside Memorial park in Spokane at 2 o'clock.
The deceased was born in Sweden on Jan. 4, 1879. She came to the United States and to Adams county 63 years ago and has lived here ever since. Her home has been at Hillcrest manor for the past three years.
She was married in Ritzville in 1903 to Gus C. Franson. He preceded her in death in 1953.
Four daughters and two sons survive. They are Mrs. Eugene Weber and Mrs. J. J. Arlt of Ritzville, Mrs. Albert Arlt and Mrs. Arthur Ott of Addy, Edward Franson of Spokane and Arthur Franson of Spokane.
Also surviving are a brother, John P. Johnson of Ritzville, 18grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Beryl Melcher of Zion Congregational church conduced the service here Monday. Milton Sackmann sang "The Old Rugged Cross: and "In the Garden" and was accompanied by Mrs. Orville Moeller at the organ.
Pallbearers here and at Riverside park were all grandsons. They were Gilbert White, Walter Arlt, Merrill Ott, Curtis Ott, Gene Arlt, Gerald Franson and Herbert Franson.
