RIGBY, ID -- Glen Alvin Schneider, 79, of Rigby, died January 6, 2007, at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho, from natural causes.

He was born May 4, 1927, in Liberal, Kansas, to Earl Schneider and Maude Manderscheid Schneider. He attended schools and graduated from high school in Liberal, then attended New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He married Barbara Lee Moon April 17, 1954, in Liveral, Kansas. He worked as a farmer and electrician. She preceded him in death, January 17, 1997.

He was a member of the IBEW Local Union #449, the American Legion and the Idaho Falls Eagles Lodge Aerie #576. He was an avid gun collector, and enjoyed farming, livestock, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by:

Daughter: Shay (Larry) Collins, Salt Lake City, UT
Daughter: Stacy (Edward) McDonald, Walsburg, UT
Son: Scot (Colleen) Schneider, Idaho Falls, ID
Brother: Joe D. Schneider, Wadell, AZ
Sister: Genevieve Morrison, Oak Harbor, WA
17 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his wife, a granddaughter, a great granddaughter, and a great grandson.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at Wood East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and for one hour prior to services Wednesday, both at Wood East Side.

Burial will be in the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home
