Joan E. Buehler, 86, of Oriskany, passed away January 20, 2011, at home. She was born December 31, 1924, in Rome, NY, the daughter of Francis and Margaret Holman Beasock. She was educated at St. Mary’s School, Rome. She married Arnold Buehler on December 31, 1942, in Rome. He died September 16, 2002. Mrs. Buehler was employed as a nurse’s aid at Eastern Star Home, Oriskany. She was a member of American Legion Post 1448 Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping and was an avid bowler. She is survived by her children, Alice Buehler, West Schuyler, Gary Buehler and wife Jeanne of Oriskany, Kenneth Buehler of Rome, and Judy Roberts of Boonville; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; and her children, Albert, Doris May, and Arnold. Funeral services will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main Street, Whitesboro, with Rev. John Buehler, officiating. Calling hours are Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral. R. Kirk Parkhurst Post 1448 Ladies Auxiliary will have services at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Spring interment will be in Oriskany Cemetery.
