Olie Underdahl, oldest child of Ben and Ingri Underdahl was born May 14, 1887, in Clayton Township, Mower County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Marshall Lutheran Church and continued to remain a steadfast and faithful member of his church. He grew to manhood in this community, and on October 4, 1911, he was united in marriage to Miss Isabel Anderson. This union was blessed with five children; four of whom are living. One daughter, Eleanor, eleven years old, died on December 16, 1923.
Mr. Underdahl was engaged in farming in Clayton Township until four years ago, when he moved his family to Adams Township where he resided until his death. His health began to fail last fall, and during the past four months his condition had become critical. He passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 2, 1954 at the age of 66 years. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife; a daughter, Leona (Mrs. Roy Gordon); and three sons, Philip, Donald, and Walter, all of Adams, and thirteen grandchildren. He is also survived by five brothers and four sisters; and many other relatives and friends. His parents and one sister, Stella, preceded him in death.
Olie Underdahl was a kind and loving father and grandfather, a true and trusted neighbor and one who will be greatly missed in the home and church and community.
Mrs. Joy Nelson and Mrs. H.E. Osmundson sang, "Heaven Is My Home," and "Softly and Tenderly" for the funeral services, with Mrs. Everett Boe, organist. Pallbearers were Melvin Lewison, Nordeen Gilderhus, Albert Finbraaten, Arthur and Carl Peterson, and Miles Otto. The Marshall Ladies' Aid served lunch following the service.
