In 1932 when George Hero died, his third wife, Claire Joubert Hero, had a tomb constructed in the oak alley of Cedar Grove Plantation in Plaquemines Parish as his resting place since he had been so devoted to the West Bank. In the 1940s she had his remains moved to a plot in Metairie Cemetary along with her first husband, Dr. Paul Archinaud. Claire now reposes there between her two husbands.
