Kristi, 31, of Battle Creek died on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical center in Fort Wayne Indiana from injuries sustained in a car accident on November 13, 2016. Kristi was born to Kevin and Connie (Shaffer) King.
She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 2003. She earned her bachelors degree from Miller College and was working on her masters degree in Ohio. Kristi served in the US Army for four years and was stationed in Texas and was part of the Michigan National Guard for two years following her honorable discharge. She also lived in California for a few years.
Kristi worked for a few years at the Michigan Youth Challenge Academy. This past summer she worked part time at Mack Accounting in Marshall. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Marshall.
She is survived by her son Kyrell King; sisters, Kori King and Kiara Edwards; her father Kevin King; Aunts and Uncle, Nancy Shaffer, Carol Shaffer, Michelle Morehouse, Lori Court, Beth Rita, and Patrick King.
She was preceded in death by her mother Connie in 2015 and her grandparents.
A funeral service took place, with Reverend Anthony Voltattorni officiating. Interment followed at West Eckford Cemetery.
