He was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church, Fort Wayne, where he and his wife led the Ambassador program for new members. He was employed for over 35 years as an actuary, retiring in 1993 from Lincoln Life. He was also a member of Bud Widmer’s Rube Band in Defiance, Ohio, The Societies of Actuaries, and The Hicksville High School Reunion Group. He was an avid Cadillac, circus, and Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiast and supported numerous local charities. Bill loved math, playing his clarinet, and being a great father, father-in-law, and grandfather.
He is survived by his son, Ray (Heidi) Easterly of Leo; and granddaughter, Gabby Easterly of Leo. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dot Easterly in April 2015.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E with calling two hours prior. Reverends Jeff and Arianne Lehn officiating. Burial in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan. Preferred memorials to Dr. Stanley Wissman Stroke Center or The New Haven Food Bank.
