Robert G. Perrine, a lifetime resident of the Grove City area, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2016, in Grove City Medical Center following an extended illness. He was 80.
Known by his family and friends as "Bob," he was born in Pine Township on Jan. 6, 1936. to C.O. "Mike" and Helen G. McDowell Perrine.
He married Martha Ann Peters on Sept. 29, 1961.
Bob was a commercial and residential painter and retired from Perrine Painting of Grove City, where he was owner and operator from 1968 until 1997. Following graduation from Grove City High School in 1953, Bob learned the painting trade by working alongside of his father until his death in 1968. Later in his career, his son Brad joined him and has continued the business to this day.
Bob was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Grove City. He was a member of the Greenville Elks Lodge and former Grove City Elks Lodge, where he served as a past exalted ruler. He also was a member of American Legion Post 220, Grove City.
He enjoyed vacationing in Florida and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Ann, at home; three children, Robert M. Perrine and his wife Kimberly, Mercer; Janine A. Atwell and her husband Neil; and Bradley K. Perrine, all Grove City; seven grandchildren, Ben Atwell, Haley Shirey, Kaitlin Perrine, Adam Atwell, Kristin Perrine, and Zach and Abby Perrine; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Klingensmith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
