Juan was survived by his wife of many years, Minnie Mondragon; 7 children; one adopted grandson; a granddaughter he raised as a daughter; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister Benina Rodriguez (John) of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
Juan was raised in Chacon, New Mexico with the Vasquez family. He was a loving father, grandfather and Tio. He loved going for wood, being in the outdoors, fishing and hunting, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Public visitation and Rosary were on 3 Dec 2016 in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial was on 5 Dec 2016 at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco. Burial followed in the Chamisal Cemetery.
