Nancy L. Cain, 71, of Sturgis, and formerly of LaGrange, Ind., died Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, at Fairview Nursing Home in Centreville. She was born Sept. 20, 1945, in Sturgis, to Howard and Marguerite (Reiling) Cain. Living most of her lifetime in LaGrange County, she retired from LaGrange County BMV, where she had worked for more than 20 years. She also worked for 23 years at the former Cain Lumber Company in Ontario, Ind. She was a member of LaGrange County Homemakers Extension Association. Surviving Nancy are a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Bob Lung of Sturgis; two aunts, Vera Fletcher of Alabama and Maxine Parish of Sturgis; six nieces and nephews and their spouses, Daniel Hughes, Douglas and Christy Hughes, David and Jenny Hughes, Anthony and Jamie Allsbury, Angela and Lee Saltzman, and Steven and Heather Lung; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews, Sarah, Lennon, Olivia, Eliza, Marshall, Asher, Anna, Alaynah, RaeLynn, Lucas, Bennett and Cooper; and numerous cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents; and a sister, Sandra Hughes. Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange, Ind., with Pastor Nathan Rasbaugh officiating. Burial will follow services at Ontario Cemetery in rural Howe, Ind.
