William Allen, 78, of 4421 N. Jackson, died Wednesday at Veterans Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, MO. and had lived in this area 63 years. Mr. Allen worked for Columbian Steel Tank Company 30 years before he retired in 1965. He was a member of Winwood Baptist Church. He was an army veteran of World War I. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Josie B. Allen of the home; three sons, Earl L. Allen, Belton; Bill J. Allen, Gladstone, and Larry D. Allen, Raytown, a daughter, Irene Volsky, and a brother, James Allen, both of Kansas City; a sister Mrs. Woody Hudson, Clinton, MO.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11:30am, Saturday, at the Floral Hills Chapel; burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. Friends may call from 7pm to 9pm tonight at the chapel.
