RAY, Mary Samko, 99, of Blackstone and Hopewell went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Barbara Nossal Samko; previous spouses, Frank Homolik and Willie Wray and a son, Frank Joseph Homolik. Mary is survived by her sister, Julia Samko; extended family, Raymond and Rachael Powell, Virginia and Cotton Brooks, Hubert Swindler Jr. and Lorraine Samko. Mary is one of nine siblings and grew up on a farm and was no stranger to hard work. She was also a member of Powers Memorial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Ave in the city of Hopewell. Her funeral ceremony and burial will follow at 2 P.M. in Appomattox Cemetery.
