Albert E. Sansom, age 88, of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Funeral services will be held at Heritage Baptist Church on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be at the church from 9:15 until 10:45. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Dr. Teman Knight will be officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mr. Sansom is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nancy Turk Sansom, Montgomery, AL; his daughter, Deborah (Debby) Perry, and husband, Steve, Franklin, TN; his son, Albert (Bert) E. Sansom, Jr., and wife, Coni, North Augusta, SC; grandchildren, Holly W. Lloyd, and husband, Matt, Spring Hill, TN; Thomas Adam Wilkinson, Nashville, TN; Elizabeth Willimon, and husband, Will, Athens, GA; great-grandchildren, Gage Lloyd, Grey Lloyd, Parker Willimon, Grace Willimon; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sansom was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and the Visions Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Navy in the Pacific Theater. He took part in the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in 2010. He retired in 1981 from the Dept. of Veterans Affairs after 35 years of service. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.
