Mr. Ron R. Hodges, 61, of Protem died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Cox Medical Center Branson. A Gathering of Friends and Celebration of Life Service will be from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, December 4, 2016 in the Forsyth High School Performing Arts Auditorium. Burial will be private.

Ronald Ray Hodges was born Saturday, November 19, 1955 in Springfield, MO to Herbert Lyle and Caunita (Fowler) Hodges. Ron attended school in Forsyth and graduated in the high school class of 1972. He attended College of the Ozarks where he earned his Bachelors Degree and later earned his Masters Degree from Missouri State University, Springfield. He taught history at the Forsyth High School, was Principal at Mark Twain for a few years and went back to teaching in Forsyth. He taught for thirty-one years and retired in 2007. In 1989 he met Glenna Underwood in Branson. They were married May 31, 1990 in Bellefonte, AR. Glenna died in June of 2016.

Ron touched a lot of lives through the years. He was a people person with a good sense of humor and inward ability to entertain others and make them feel loved. He thoroughly enjoyed playing golf with his best friends. He enjoyed entertaining by playing the guitar, singing and dancing. Ron was an avid hunter and was particularly fond of his dog, Indy Lou.

He is survived by his mother, Caunita Peterson of Springfield, MO; two sons, Dustin Hodges of Dallas, TX, Justin Hodges of Protem; two daughters, Misty Sanders of Protem, Kyla Hodges of Springfield, MO; one brother, Bradley Hodges and wife, Misty of Protem; one sister, Lisa Gaughan and husband, Daniel of Atlanta, MO; two grandchildren, Baylor Hodges and Arayah Sanders.

He is preceded in death by his father, Herbert Hodges and wife, Glenna Hodges.

Memorials in memory of Ron Hodges may be made to the Ron Hodges Memorial Fund at any US Bank branch.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
