JAMES P. BIRRINGER
(1947 - 2016)

James P. Birringer, age 69, a longtime Newton resident, died Monday morning, November 29, 2016 at his residence.

Jim was born on June 15, 1947 in Manitowoc, WI, son of late Paul and Delores (Soukoup) Birringer. He was a graduate of Valders High School with the class of 1965. Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On January 15, 1971 he married the former Kay Kaminski at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on March 30, 2015. Jim was employed at Manitowoc Tool and Machine as an inspector for several years until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed playing golf and shooting trap, which he won awards. Jim liked to build model train sets and loved to spend time with his family, especially playing games.

Survivors include two sons: Brian Birringer, and special friend Samantha, Newton, Jason Birringer, Madison; three grandchildren: Zachary, Jaiden and James Birringer; one brother and sister-in-law: Robert and Donna Birringer, Two Rivers; one sister and brother-in-law: Diane and John Chianelli, Milwaukee; one sister-in-law and three brothers-in-law: Karen and Jerry Belinski, Green Bay, Richard Reynolds, Manitowoc, Oran Kaminski and special friend Carol, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by one sister-in-law: Joanne Reynolds.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Michael Warden. Military Rites will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 731. Burial will take place at Branch Evergreen Cemetery.
