JOYCE F. BOWERS of Florida, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at her home. Born January 17, 1933 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Charles Flanagan and Mae Elizabeth Kline.
She was the founder/co-owner of Bow Lightning and Supply, Inc. She was a member of the Women's Club of Hagerstown; Past-President (2007-2009) of the Crossroads Garden Club; member of the Key West Garden Club in Key West, Florida; Founder/Past-President of the Oak Ridge Garden Club; and winner of numerous blue ribbons/Best of Show flower show awards. She was a member of NOW(National Organization for Women) and a past member of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra Guild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Bowers, Sr. in 2008. She is survived by her son, Charles M. Bowers, Jr.; her three daughters, Candice J. Wagaman; Cindy L. O'Brien; and Crista R. Shoemaker; one sister, Joann Sharon of Hagerstown; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown, MD. Interment will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD.
