RAMONA JEAN (SCARBROUGH) McGILLVARY, age 77, of Piqua, died at 2:15 AM on Tues. Nov. 29, 2016 at Sidney Care Center. She was born in Deersville, OH on August 14, 1939 to the late Raymond J. and Roberta M. (Martin) Kellar. On December 20, 1979 in Piqua, she married Clyde E. McGillvary. He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2014.
Ramona is also survived by one daughter: Sharon (Scarbrough) Merrill, Soddy Daisy, TN; two step sons and daughters-in-law: Gary and Ellen McGillvary, Clarksville, TN, and Glenn and Betty McGillvary, Markee, IN; two step daughters and son-in-law: Karla McGillvary, FL and Karen and Richard Edwards, Greenville, OH; one sister and brother-in-law: Kathleen and Ted Lawson, Covington, OH; one brother and sister-in-law: Roland and Helen Kellar, Sidney, OH; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Ramona graduated in 1957 from Piqua Central High School. She was a member of the Nazarene Faith. Along with being a homemaker, Ramona worked at Keys-Fibre in Troy for 10 years, AO Smith in Tipp City, she was a telephone operator at Century Motel in Troy and she also worked for Ohio Bell as a phone operator.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday December 5, 2016 at 10:00 AM at MELCHER-SOWERS FUNERAL HOME, Piqua with Pastor Lincoln Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington, OH. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 PM at the funeral home.
