Anna Lee Greenback Pope of Miami, OK passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 at Windridge Nursing Center in Miami, OK. She was 69.

Anna was born October 28, 1947 in Oklahoma City, OK to Jack and Audrey (Quapaw) Greenback.

She was a member of the Quapaw Tribe and Eastern – Shawnee Tribe. She had lived in the Miami area for many years and was a homemaker and a member of the Spring River Indian Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 siblings Charles “Sonny” Greenback, Martha Dick and Barbara Sue Greenfeather.

Survivors include her husband Stephen Pope of the home, 2 sons Stephen Lee Pope and Joey Pope of Wyandotte, OK, her daughter Audrey Marlene Salazar of Commerce, OK, 2 sisters Mary Burtrum and Paula Lantrip of Quapaw, OK, 6 granddaughters and 2 grandsons and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Friday December 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Quapaw Tribal Building, SE of Quapaw, OK. Anna will lie in state at the Quapaw Tribal Building.

Interment will be in the Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marlin Harjo, Troy Stand, Mitchell Nucholls, Jon Whitecrow, Luis Prado and Raymond Sharp. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom McGeisey and Jason Dollarhide.

Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
