Don attended Atwell High School and went on to serve his country for ten years in the United States Army. He later received his GED and earned a two-year technical degree. He worked in the manufactured housing industry for 20 years.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 6-9 pm at Nichols Funeral Home, Double Springs, where services will be held on Friday at 11 am. Burial will follow in Mt. Ebron Cemetery in Double Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Waldon and Laverne Gurley; and sisters, Terry Richmond and Doris Gurley.
