William Fenton was born in County Durham, England circa 1860. His parents were William Fenton and Mary Ann Thompson Fenton. He came to the USA with his father William Fenton circa 1880, and settled in Luzerne/Forty Fort area. Siblings that also came to the USA: Jane Fenton Caruthers, Isabella Fenton Pope, Elizabeth Fenton Maroney. Two sisters remained in England: Catherine Fenton Foster, and Mary Ann Fenton Hawksby (Hawxby). He married wife Rebecca Pope in 1882. No children were mentioned, but Albert Jones (Fenton), nephew/son appears in 1900 and 1910 censuses with William and Rebecca Fenton.
