PARKER, Jacqueline P., age 94, was welcomed home by our loving Lord on Monday, November 28, 2016. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Robert C. Parker; and two brothers, Donald L. Petri and Robert O. Petri. Born in Lynchburg, Va., in 1922 to the late George and Grace Petri, Jackie, quiet, but witty and delightfully lighthearted, spent her young adult years in Richmond where she found lifelong friends at Boulevard Methodist Church and Thomas Jefferson High School. Upon graduation from TJ in 1939, she received secretarial training from Pan American School and was employed with The Home Insurance Company for nine years until her marriage in 1948. Jackie had an adorable personality. She was creative and had a purity of heart and genuineness about her; she dearly cherished her friends. She loved music and thoroughly enjoyed singing with the JoySingers choir at First Baptist Church for many years. Her husband, Bob, was her greatest admirer. They were a devoted couple with mutual respect for one another and a deep reverence for God. Their children are grateful to the Lord for His provision of a loving, stable and Christ-honoring home.
