Matthew Kasey Perry, 23, of Hazel Green, went to be with the Lord on Monday.

He was a 2011 graduate of Madison County High School and was currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hazel Green. Matthew enjoyed spending time with his friends and loved to make other people laugh.

Matthew was preceded in death by his grandmother, Vickie Evans; His grandfather, William Perry; His aunt, Connie Evans; His great-grandmother, Olean Knighten.

Surviving family members include his parents, Dale & Debbie Perry; His brothers, Caleb Perry and Chris Perry; His sister-in-law, Rachel Perry; His girlfriend, Maddie Denis; His grandmother, Martha Perry; His grandfather and grandmother, Lee and Jean Evans; His uncles, David Evans, Doug (Dusty) Perry, and Kin (Laura) Perry; He is also survived by several cousins.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:30pm until 8:30pm at the First Baptist Church of Hazel Green. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday at 11am at the church with Rev. Bobby Eads, Rev. Neal Duncan, and Rev. Mike Patterson officiating. Burial will follow the service and will be in Pine Burr Cemetery on Pine Burr Road in Eva, Alabama.
