Billy C. Henry, age 88 of Whitesburg, passed away November 29, 2016. He was born January 27, 1928 in Carroll County to the late Alva O. Henry and Eva Geneva Watts Henry. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and later after many years of service as a supervisor, he retired from Wellington Mills. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Ann Henry; sisters, Anna Lou Rakestraw and Frances Poore; and his brothers, Herman T. Henry, Thomas E. Henry, Paul Henry, Olin Henry, and Rev. Jimmy Henry. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Nadeen Wallace Henry of Whitesburg; son, Andy Henry also of Whitesburg; sister, Helen Holloway of Carrollton; brother, Larry Arlin Henry of Mt. Airy, NC; three grandchildren, John Ross Henry, Martha Michelle Henry, and Billy James “B.J.” Henry; and five great grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, December 01, 2016 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Gary Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitesburg City Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers will be John Henry, Jimbo Henry, Levi Batchelor, Tyler Batchelor and Chris Williams. The American Legion Post #143 will perform the flag presentation.
