Raymond Howell, 73 of Petal, died Thursday,
September 22, 2016. Funeral services will be
held at 10 a.m. on Saturday,October 8, 2016
at the Petal Chapel of Moore Funeral Home
with interment in Chappell Hill Cemetery to
follow.
Mr. Howell was a member of Crestview Baptist
Church and had served in the U.S. Air Force.
He went on to serve his community becoming
a member of the Hattiesburg Fire Department,
the Hattiesburg Police Department, the Forrest
County Sheriff's Department, and was an
investigator for the District Attorney's Office
of both Forrest and Perry County. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Shirley
W. and Pauline Fisher Howell and a sister-in
-law, Peggy Howell.
Raymond is survived by his wife of forty-four
years, Helen Howell of Petal; two daughters,
Karen (John) Littlejohn of Hattiesburg, Sandra
(Paul) Bounds of Petal; a sister, Shirley
(Travis) Andrews of Runnelstown; three
brothers, Sherman Howell, Michael (Brenda)
Howell, Curtis (Vicki) Howell, all of Petal;
two granddaughters, Alexandra and Mallory
Bounds, both of Petal; numerous nieces
and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Howell will be Saturday
October 8, 2016 from 9 a.m. until service time
at the Petal Chapel of Moore Funeral Home.
Raymond's family wants to give a special
thank you to the Law Enforcement Community
and all of Raymond's friends for their support,
prayers and kindness.
