Born on November 13, 1937 in Oppenheim, NY, he was the son of Clarence Gray and Anna Smith. He attended Oppenheim School and was a lifetime area resident.
Most recently Mr. Gray worked for CNR Drywall, retiring in 1995. He also worked with his father on their farm in Lasselsville, NY.
George loved playing his guitar and singing with his family. He was a shady tree mechanic and a jack-of-all-trades.
On July 20, 1958 in Fort Plain, NY, George married Carolyn A. Cool. She preceded him in death on October 13, 2004.
Mr. Gray was predeceased by his brothers, Kenny Gray, Norman Gray; and sister, Louise Mulbeck.
Mr. Gray is survived by his daughter, Carol and David Ouderkirk of Fort Plain, NY; son, George D. “Joe” and Kim Gray of South Valley, NY; 7 brothers, Leonard Gray, Clarence “Honey” Gray, Robert “Bob” Gray, Daniel Gray, Earl Folts, Robert “Bob” Folts, Gary Folts; 4 sisters, Elma Hoyer, Roberta Mead, Beverly Meyers, Marilyn Williams; 6 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
