Dead By His Own Hand
Monday evening about nine o'clock, Frank H. Bayless, at the home of his mother, undertook to end his earthly troubles by taking strchnine. After taking the dose he informed his mother of what he had done and himself went in sesarch of a physician for relief. Drs. White and Miller worked over him nearly all night but about 6:30 the next morning his suffering was ended by death. Frank H. Bayless, son of D.D. Bayless and wife, was born April 6, 1876, and had been a resident of Elkader nearly all his life. He was married to Ella Harris, Oct. 25, 1900; her death occurred Dec. 31, 1902. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock from the Congregational church. Interment in the East Side cemetery -- Elkader Argus
