Jacqueline L. Moffitt passed away Oct. 14, 2011, at the age of 68 with her family by her side.

Jacqueline was a longtime resident of Tyler, born in Amite, La., on Sept. 2, 1943, to the late Noah Jean and Elizabeth Ruth Booty.

She graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, La. She then went on to graduate from the National School of Aeronautics in Kansas City, Mo.

She moved to Tyler in the early '60s and had lived in Tyler since. She attended Tyler Junior College and then LeTourneau University where she received her master's degree.

Jacqueline retired as senior vice president of Regions Bank when she became ill. She was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Dale A. Hipke of Tyler; her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Greg Langley; her two stepsons, Clay Hipke, PhD of Florida and Dr. Matt Hipke of Longview; her grandchildren, Samantha and Ryan Searle, Cole Langley and Blake and Tonya Langley; her great-grandchildren Merek Searle and Dexter Searle; all of whom reside in Tyler; three brothers, Jean Booty of South Carolina, Willie Booty of Louisiana, and Bobby Booty of Louisiana; four sisters, Charlotte Bradshaw of Tyler, Verria Russell of Arkansas, Dianne Booty of Tyler, and Beth Hein of Louisiana; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Booty and Ruth Parsons; her first husband, Stewart Moffitt; her brother, Larry Booty of Louisiana, and her brother, Alfred Booty of Illinois.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home. There will be visitation following the service in Jacqueline's garden.

Jacqueline was truly an amazing and beautiful woman who loved God, her family, this community and those who lived here. She led an active and full life to the very end, refusing to let anything get her down. She had a love of flowers and gardening and spent many days in the garden with her family.

There was something beautiful to see at every turn along the garden path; many blossoms and many roses, but none that would compare to her. She has left her mark on our hearts and souls and her memory will live on through all who loved her.
