Franklin Leon Morrison, of Sanford, NC, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
He was born in Lee County, NC, to the late Robert Lee Morrison and Sarah Bridges Morrison. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Kevin “Buddy” Morrison; sisters Emma Jean Caviness and Barbara Fields and a brother Donnie Morrison. Leon was a retired firefighter from the City of Sanford. He served his country in the US Navy. Leon was an active volunteer for Highway to Healing and he served as a member of the Lee County Gideons.
