Matt Womack, 84, of Roanoke, peacefully passed on Wednesday, April 28, 2004. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a devoted member of the American Legion Post #3, and the Vinton Moose Lodge #1121. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Barbara Womack; brothers, Hugh A. Womack, Ben Womack; and a sister, Nancy Taylor. He is survived by his sister, Alice Womack; three sons and three daughters, William Scott Womack and his wife, Robbin, Jeffrey Womack and his wife, Tonia, Molly Gimbert and her husband, Doug, Su Taylor and her husband, David, Michael Womack and his wife, Martha, and Lynn Shively and her husband, Raymond; 17 grandchildren, Jeremiah, Amber, Jarrett, Jesse, Dustin, Josh, Mary Kathryn, Erica, Jacob, Meagan, Samuel, Mike, Jr., Kyle, Dana and her husband, Alan, Samantha, Tina, and Douglas and his wife, Beth; five great-grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Aaron, Ethan, and Dylan. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2004, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #3, 710 Apperson Dr., Salem, Va. 24153. Arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 982-2100.
