He was the son of Lowell and Gertrude (Meacham) Pierce. On Feb 22, 1949, in Minster, he married Lois H. Kohnen, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are four daughters: Donna Stork, Warsaw, IN, and Bonnie Berry, Deb Henning and Linda (Joe) Dressman, all St. Marys; a daughter-in-law, Janet (Alan) Huckemeyer; a brother, Harry, Sebring, FL; a sister, Ann Domenech, Key West, FL; and nine grandchildren and twelve great=grandchildren.
Deceased are a son linked below; and a granddaughter, Nikki Pierce.
A veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Rhineland and Central Europe Theatres during WWII, he was a former police officer for the City of St. Marys, and later worked as a truck driver for the United States Air Carrier Company, Crown Equipment and St. Marys Trucking. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys; American Legion Post 323; Eagles Lodge 691; and VFW Post 9289. He was an avid fisherman, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, with Rev. Barry Stechschulte officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
