Thomas Joseph Cannon, 71, of Mexia, Texas, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016, at Providence Hospital in Waco, Texas following a lengthy illness. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Galveston Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.

Thomas was born in New York City, New York, to the late William and Florence Brewer Cannon. He was a retired tile contractor.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Sue Donovan Callies Cannon, of Mexia; son, Benedetto Cannon, of Inverness, FL; daughters: Francis Grady and Samantha Cannon, both of Inverness, FL, and Michelle Eggers and husband, Ken, of Tucson, AZ; step-daughters, Darci Ann Graves and husband, Charles, of Ft. Worth, and Trica Rae Yeathermon and husband, Steve, of League City; step-son, Robert Callies and wife, Jackie, of League City; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob Cannon and wife, Amy, of Staten Island, NY, and James Cannon and wife, Barbara, of Lakewood, NJ; sisters: Eileen Forte, of Howell, NJ, Mary Korsnes and husband, Ed, of Staten Island, NY, Florence Rachel, of Hillside, NJ, and Dorothy Zuniga and husband, Carlos, of Staten Island, NY; father-in-law, Eugene P. Donovan, of Mexia; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
