Shreveport, LA -Ruby M. Wells, 95, entered into rest on Sunday, 27 Nov 2016. She was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother,, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, David S. Wells. Her love of the Lord and family was a blessing to all that knew her.
She is survived by her sister, Gladys Sykes of Albany, GA; daughters, Jane Bounds and husband Ted of Spring Ridge, LA, Becki Lane and husband Allen of Sherveport, LA; sons, Dan Wells and wife Carmalieta of Jones, OK, and Jim Wells and wife Ann of Cynthiana, KY. She is also survived by twelve beloved grandchildren, thirteen gread-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A long-time member of Stockwell Road Missionary Baptist Church, she also was Chaplain of VFW Post 4588 in Bossier City, LA, and served many hours as a volunteer at Overton Brooks VA Hospital.
Pastors Nathan Luellen and Darrell Dean will conduct the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, Hwy 80 East in Haughton.
Burial will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park where Mrs. Wells' grandsons will act as pallbearers. The family will receive Friends for visitation on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Hill Cress Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request a donation be made to Stockwell Road Missionary Baptist Church, 2201 Stockwell Rd., Bossier City, LA 7111.
