Danny L. Carpenter passed away in his home, November 24, 2016. He was born to Dan and Audrey (Conley) Carpenter in Knox, IN on April 25, 1941.

He married Barbara (Vanaman) Carpenter on February 19, 1966.

For fifty years, Danny was the owner/operator of Carpenter Oil Co. Inc.. He truly appreciated all of his loyal customers. He knew few strangers, and was a friend to everyone.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, and spending time with his friends. He was an avid bird watcher, and had compassion for all animals.

Over the years, he had been a coach for numerous Little League teams. He was a proud sponsor for countless local sports, individual athletes and community activities. Danny was enthusiastic about all sports. He was a faithful Bears and Cubs fan through and through. One of the highest points for him was watching the Cubs win the World Series this November!

He is survived by his wife "Skip," and five children: Warren (Rosalyn) Gappa of Prattville, AL, Daniel (Stacey) Gappa of Bellingham, WA, Jeanine (Gappa) Huey of Brookston, IN, Dana Carpenter and Jill (Greg) Bejes both of North Judson, IN. He was blessed with fourteen grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by three sisters: Dee (Carpenter) Boone, Edna (Howard) Werling, and Pansy (Howard) Dedloff.
