James L. Chesser, 75, a retired U. S. Army captain, died Friday, July 23. He was a native of Middleburg, and at the time of his death resided in Lompoc, Calif. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Middleburg. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillian Sharpe Chesser; one daughter, Mrs. Linda Boynton; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church of Middleburg, with Rev. John Bogers, officiating. Interment will follow in Middleburg United Methodist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be John Dillaberry, Floyd Gnann, Carroll Gnann, Carlos Chesser, Louis Canova and Clyde Saunders. Arrangements by Rivermead Funeral Home, Blanding Chapel, 127 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park.
