Barbara Conner Kayler, 76, of Halfway, formerly of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and Lockney, passed away on November 25, 2016.

The family will receive visitors from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, at Lemons Funeral Home. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Kyle Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Barbara was born on September 3, 1940, in Dallas, Texas, to William Howard Taft Conner and Virginia Belle York Conner. On March 26, 1962, she married the love of her life, Hubert Kayler in Dallas. In Barbara's words, she and her husband were given two of God's most treasured gifts, Paul Douglas and Laura Kimberley. They were happily married until his passing on July 12, 1987.

Barbara was very committed to her community. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Wilbur-Ellis Company in Lockney as secretary. She was a Real Estate Broker since 1975, officed in Plainview. She served as Board Director, Secretary and Treasurer for the Plainview Board of Realtors for three years. She received honorable award for "Realtor of the Year" and the "Doug Graham Award" for excellence in the real estate profession. Barbara was a member of the National and State Association for Realtors. She served on the Board of Directors of Hospice Hands of West Texas, having served as President. She also served as Secretary for two years for the Floyd County Fair Board, for the Lockney Area Chamber of Commerce for six years; Secretary for Plainview Serenity Organization and she served on the Board of Directors for Lockney Friends Library.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 25 years, Hubert, her sister Sylvia Capehart; and her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Laura Kimberley Clemmons and husband Tom of Lubbock; her son, Paul Douglas Kayler and wife Rene of Halfway; grandsons, Craig Douglas Kayler, Conner Drake Kayler, Carson Drew Kayler, Harley Slade Clemmons; granddaughter, Kori Elizabeth Kayler; great-grandson, Brantley Cain Kayler; nephews, Lloyd Howard Capehart, Richard Wayne Capehart, David Stephen Capehart and William Bradford Capehart; one niece, Susan Cheri' Downey and one great niece, Sarah Cherie' Downey.

At Barbara's request, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of the South Plains or The Morris Safe House in Lubbock.
