Leah Ruth Hall, 90, formerly of San Angelo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, in the VistaCare Hospice in-patient unit in Lubbock, Texas.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, in the Masonic section of Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jim Benson officiating.

She was born June 3, 1919, in Chicago, as the only child of John and Maude Sechtling Hides.

She worked in her father's grocery store until her fiance, Harold Louis Hall, returned from his tour of duty in the South Pacific.

They were married on May 27, 1945, in Chicago.

Leah was a 63-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Olive Chapter #179 in Oakland, Ill.

Leah was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband lived in Sherman, Texas, and San Angelo, Texas.

After Harold's retirement from GTE, they enjoyed traveling to Greece, Mexico and many of the United States, including Hawaii.

Leah was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband of 61 years, Harold.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon and husband Gary Skrabanek of Lubbock; her son, Jon C. Hall of Frisco; three grandsons, Chris Skrabanek and Jason Skrabanek of Lubbock and Thomas Hall of Frisco; special niece Dottie Lewis of North Chicago; and special friend Carolyn Gunter of San Angelo.

The family wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude for the loving care and compassion that Leah received from Dr. Tommie Farrell and the team members at VistaCare.
